Summertime and the living is easy .... I guess you remember that song. Unfortunately living isn't so easy nowadays but we can try to make the best of it! I wish everybody a happy Summer!

The news is very sad.
Hello dear Mervi,
This is very sad news from Hellabrunn with the news of the death of Otto, the cub elephant. He was also killed by the herpes virus that killed the two young elephants in Berlin years ago.
It is particularly tragic that there is still no vaccine against this infection and therefore it can affect any animal again and again.
I also feel for the carers and vets who did everything they could to save him.
